Cinesilencia is the video production and post-production project of La Silencia. We are High-Definition, DVD, and
Web-ready professionals.

Our latest project is a high-definition video titled:
"Hans Olson: Stronger than the Devil." This is the first installment of a proposed television documentary series profiling people of passion.

 

We produce high-definition video and audio for personal and business use. We specialize in documentary subjects, such as family video archives.

Hans Olson: Stronger than the Devil is a video documentary in high-definition format featuring local blues artist Hans Olson. It is presented here as a sample of a proposed series of video documentaries called AZ You Like It. The series will feature residents of Arizona who come from all walks of life. These individuals all share one common characteristic - passion. They each possess a love, a desire or a vision that drives them to perform and express themselves in remarkable ways. The series will showcase persons engaged in activities that are life affirming and which ultimately uphold a sense of community.

Some individuals we intend to profile include:

  • a 100-year-old witness of the pioneering days of television and curator of the Grace Foundation for the Preservation of Americana, a private museum in Cave Creek
  • a champion of independent filmmaking in Arizona
  • a veteran hot air balloonist
  • a poet dedicated to promoting the spoken word as a healing art

Hans Olson: Stronger than the Devil demonstrates our documentary approach - it is focused (24 minutes in length), and employs a direct cinematic style that combines interviews with handheld camerawork, conveying a "raw" immediacy and intimacy. The visual quality is enhanced by the use of cutting edge, high definition (HD) technology.

In sum, the purpose of this proposed series is threefold: First, to inspire the viewing audience as we represent passion as a motivating factor for the common good; second, to instill a pride of localism and communal spirit; last, but not least, to provide a record and archive of historical interest.
