We want to hear from you! The purpose of La Silencia, as stated on our cover is, “personal viewpoint in social context.” We are looking for prose with a first person voice. We want to share your stories with all of our readers. Our intent is to initiate thoughtful retrospection on our life experiences. As we say in our Manifesto, “In the sharing of our personal stories, we build a latticework of relationships that expands to our society at large.” Writing Guidelines This is not a literary zine. Please submit personal stories that record your thoughts on a life experience. Pieces should evoke thought from our readers. Your skill as a writer is not as important as your ability to share a story people can understand. Pieces should approximately 1200 words, but pieces shorter or longer will be considered for publication. We will not accept fiction or poetry. Please review the print version or the online zine before submitting. You may also wish to read our Manifesto. Please include your name and contact information with your submission. We will not send any material back to you unless you make prior arrangements with us. La Silencia is a free publication, therefore you will not receive any monetary compensation for your submissions.
